Our standard films come with a 3-year warranty, while premium options provide up to 7 years of coverage, ensuring extended reliability and peace of mind.

Our warranty periods are tailored to each product, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction. ‍

The Ultra Clear SF, designed for architectural applications for the highest level of excellence, is covered by a 7-year warranty.

The Classic SF, offering industry-standard performance, is covered by a 3-year warranty.

The Crystal Clear SF, with its professional-grade clarity, comes with a 5-year warranty.

The Electrochromic Film, which shifts from clear to tinted, comes with a 3-year warranty.



These comprehensive warranties provide peace of mind, guaranteeing long-term performance for every smart film solution we offer.

As of March 1st, 2022, we require all warranties to be registered to be valid.


To make sure your product is fully covered under warranty, we’ll need to have your
warranty registration in place. Please share the requested product details with us, and we’ll be happy to start working on your issue right away!

Submit your warranty registration form within 30 days of receiving your product and/or within 72 hours of installation completion.

For any warranty to be valid, the following conditions must be met:

The warranty registration is in place in our database

Retain a copy of the original quote/signed estimate or (invoice)

Pay the full contract price of our service

Pay in full any other outstanding invoices to the seller

Retain a copy of your cancelled check or other evidence of full payment from any electronic payment method

The buyer must provide proof of a product defect by means of video and pictures that justify the warranty claim.


Smart Glass Country offers a warranty of up to seven years for our switchable PDLC film. This warranty does not cover any damages incurred during shipping or storage, so it is important
to inspect the film within 24 hours of delivery.

***Please note that smart film cannot be left in the 'ON' state for longer than 72 hours (3 days) or it may begin to damage the switchable interlayer.

We suggest promptly installing the film upon its arrival to ensure optimal quality, as prolonged storage can potentially damage our hard coating layer. Should installation be delayed, the client should open up and lay the film on glass or wood surfaces until it’s time for use.

Guarantees:

Our warranty includes the following guarantees: Normal functioning of the smart film and consistency of the desired effect, going from clear to frosted, when powered on and off. Proper functioning of the transformer.

Exclusions:


This warranty
does not cover conditions that are not product defects or are caused by factors beyond Smart Glass Country’s control, including, without limitation:

1. Improper Use, Handling, or Maintenance

Improper, negligent, or abusive use of the Smart Film.

Improper or incomplete maintenance.

Improper weeping resulting in the accumulation of moisture or water.

Any water intrusion, moisture damage, or exposure to excessive humidity.

Any water or moisture damage of any kind.

Condensation, frost, mould, mildew, corrosion, fungus, or other naturally occurring deposits.

Use of incorrect sealants/silicone, chemicals, or cleaning agents not approved by Smart Glass Country. Only Non-acidic silicone should be used. 

2. Shipping, Storage, and Physical Damage

Damage incurred during shipping, transportation, handling, or storage.

Any physical damage caused during installation, including but not limited to damage resulting from careless removal of the protective layer or other improper handling of the film.

Any physical damage caused by third-party mishandling.

3. Installation-Related Exclusions

Improper or incomplete installation unless performed by Smart Glass Country.

Installations that do not follow Smart Glass Country’s installation instructions or recommendations.  Our instructions and recommendations

Failure to use installation methods, materials, or procedures approved by Smart Glass Country.

Improper sealing of the Smart Film or leaving the film unsealed.

Use of incorrect sealants/silicone, chemicals, or cleaning agents not approved by Smart Glass Country. Only Non-acidic silicone should be used.

4. Unauthorized Modifications and Unapproved Materials

Alterations, modifications, or repairs not made by Smart Glass Country.

Application or attachment of unapproved materials, coatings, adhesives, or films.

Use of incorrect sealants/silicone, chemicals, or cleaning agents not approved by Smart Glass Country for installation or maintenance. Only Non-acidic silicone should be used.

5. Electrical and System Failures

Exposure of the Smart Film, transformer, or power supply to electrical surges.

Electrical work, wiring, integration systems, or power connections that were inadequate, improperly installed, or not specified/approved by Smart Glass Country.

6. Environmental and External Causes

Damage caused by external factors, including the acts of third parties.

Vandalism, impact damage, or intentional misuse.

Natural catastrophes such as floods, storms, earthquakes, or other force majeure events.

7. Warranty Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies exclusively to the original client. It cannot be transferred to subsequent owners or users of the Smart Film.



‍Procedure


Any communication concerning the smart film warranty provided by Smart Glass Country must be emailed to [email protected]. In order for the warranty to be honoured, the client must return the product to Smart Glass Country via prepaid transport.


No warranties will be enforced, and no exchanges will be made if the privacy film has been cut, bent, dented, kinked, scratched, gouged, if the protective liner has been peeled off, or if the film is in poor condition. If the failure of or defect in the product is covered by the warranty, Smart Glass Country will either repair the product, replace it with a product of the same or higher quality or reimburse the client, in each case at no additional cost to the client. Labour costs associated with the removal, installation or reinstallation of the product are not covered by this warranty.

Each piece of smart film is custom-made for the client. Therefore, the order cannot be cancelled following confirmation under any circumstances, nor can the client be reimbursed for any cancelled order.

Please note that we do not cover the shipping costs for replacement pieces.

Each piece of smart film is custom-made for the client. Therefore, the order cannot be cancelled following confirmation under any circumstances, nor can the client be reimbursed for any cancelled order.

How to Maintain Smart Film

Keep your smart glass and film performing at its best. With simple maintenance, your glass windows, walls and doors will offer privacy on demand for many years to come. Here is some information and tips on inspecting, installing, cleaning and maintaining our switchable glass products.

‍Cleaning Smart Glass and Film

‍Smart glass is cleaned just like regular glass with alcohol or glass cleaner. Smart Film should be cleaned with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol (70% alcohol or rubbing alcohol that you can buy in any drugstore).

Important Precautions:

Always power the film off when cleaning and do not turn it back on until it is completely dry.

Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a high-quality microfiber towel dampened with isopropyl alcohol
(70%).

Do not spray alcohol directly onto the film. Instead, apply it to the cloth first.

Gently wipe the surface in straight, even strokes.

Avoid water, wet cloths, or any cleaning methods that could saturate the film.

Never clean electric privacy film with a wet cloth and bucket or other technique that drenches the surface of the film with water.

Never allow metal parts or abrasive tools to come into contact with the film, as this may cause
scratches or permanent damage.

The surface of the privacy film can become marked or scratched if cleaning instructions are not followed.



‍Annual Checks

‍Following installation, we recommend checking the privacy glass or film annually to ensure all wiring is in good working condition, framing materials are free of any damage, and the transformer is operating well.

Areas adjoining the glass, such as walls, ceiling and floors, should have their structural integrity, humidity and temperature checked. If there is excess heat or humidity, it should be dealt with as soon as possible to preserve the switchable glass or film. If the edges were sealed with a silicon gel to keep moisture away, check to ensure the silicon is still in place and perform any necessary touch-ups.
